A work experience for Sainsbury’s Christmas advert 2016 -The Greatest Gift

The Greatest Gift

Presenting the new Sainsbury’s Christmas Advert – a joyous Christmas musical created in stop frame animation featuring vocals by James Corden. It tells the story of Dave, a hard-working and devoted Dad, who realises that the greatest gift he can give people this Christmas is his time.

As the first snow falls, we find our hero Dave caught up in the Christmas whirlwind – all he wants to do is to get home to spend time with his family, but all sorts of Christmas duties and calamities are getting in his way. That is until he sees a gingerbread man on his daughter’s bedside table that they’ve made to look like him. That gives him a genius brainwave…

I been working on this production for 8 weeks, I was doing editing on set and help director to edit.

Here are the design for the blue print, which is for the factory shot.

A work experience for Isle of Dogs(Wes Anderson)

Isle of Dogs

Wes Anderson has revealed his next cinematic venture, following on from his 2014 film Grand Budapest Hotel and his recent Christmas ad for H&M. His latest animated film will be titled Isle of Dogs and includes major castings like Yoko Ono, Greta Gerwig and Scarlett Johansson.

Speaking in a video post, the director said: “I’m here today to officially announce the start of my new film which is called Isle of Dogs. It’s an animated movie and we’re shooting it in England.”

I was lucky to get 2 weeks work experience in 3 Mills Studios. During this 2 weeks I did some testing animation for the other animators on the set.

And also I had 2 days work experience in the puppet hospital, which is the model making department. I made my baby puppet there.

How to using 3D support 2D animation

Some research of 2D animation combine 3D techniques.

  • Spirit Stallion Of The Cimarron

This film used a lot of the camera to track the shooting, the background of the animation uses 3D animation techniques to achieve the camera moving, such as the house running through the mountains, grasslands, and forests. This is a really good example for using 3D background to support 2D animation.

  • Freak of the week

Another good example is this music video called Freak of the week, the features of music video is using lots of camera moving, especially for band, this 2D animation using 3D techniques not just the background and also the characters.

  • Tarzan

  • SAMURAI NOODLES “THE ORIGINATOR”

  • Poet Anderson

  • Cassette Girl

  • Treasure Planet

  • Sayonara

  • Everything I Can See From Here

  • Using 3D to develop character design and facial expressions

I am using 3D models to design the facial expressions, this process works really well for me especially for the realistic character design. And also I am enjoy to do modeling using Zbrush, this

Term 5 Project Red House

TERM 5  Final Project:  A RED HOUSE

  • Inspiration

The inspiration of A RED HOUSE came from an exercise in a lesson at the beginning of Term 3, We randomly selected two cards and tell a story. I drew a house and a baby.

So, at that time I came out an idea about a house and a baby.

  • Research

There are few of animation works using the house as a topic.

After saw them I feel so bad but I will do something new and also original. There are some personal opinion about these two animation works.

The Home Sweet Home. Obviously, the visual effect is really good, but for story telling, the choice of Alive House is unnecessary. Why the house start a journey? What’s the motivation?

The Embarked, it is a story about the boy who moves to another place, and the house followed him and they been together again. I don’t think it is same as my story.

  • The analysis of Christmas Advert

This is an advert for Christmas from John Lewis in 2013.

This is a repost from a recent Facebook Live stream that Aaron did. In this video Aaron goes back to his roots with pencil and paper at the animation desk. Watch as Aaron demonstrates and explains the use of simple shapes when traditionally animating characters. Through the use of simple shapes your ability to keep the look and volumes of your characters consistent throughout your animation will be greatly increased.

The Research of American family adopts chinses child.

Adoption became an official legal process (and not just an informal practice) in the 1850s. And over the last 150 years, the institution has evolved and changed along with society. Today, about 135,000 children are adopted in America every year — from the foster care system, private domestic agencies, family members, and other countries.

A short documentary that follows one family’s experience adopting a baby girl internationally from China using America World Adoption service.

Finn is visually impaired and was abandoned in China shortly after birth. But this July 2015 he was adopted by Beth and Ferrin. Travel through their adoption day and hear their thoughts.

Here is a piece of music really suit for my topic.
